Natalia Kapitonova, Esq. is the co- founding partner at Kapitonov & Kapitonova, P.C., a law firm with its principal offices in Manhattan and White Plains, New York. Ms. Kapitonova’s practices focuses on Employment, Insurance, Education and Maritime Law litigation. In addition, Ms. Kapitonova’s practice also focuses on Appeals in the State and Federal Courts. Prior to founding the firm, Ms. Kapitonova worked with the prestigious Stewart Lee Karlin at Stewart Karlin Law Group, P.C., where she is an Of Counsel Attorney. Ms. Kapitonova was also a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Anthony Fiorella Jr. in Kings County. While interning for Judge Fiorella, Ms. Kapitonova had the opportunity to assist in drafting judicial decisions, which were published while she was still attending law school. Further, Ms. Kapitonova also worked in Immigration and Real Estate law firms in New York City and now has over ten years of experience in the legal field.
While in College, Ms. Kapitonova was a recipient of the Honorable Delegation Award at the United Nations International Political Science competition held in the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. After her successful participation, she was invited to work for the United Nations of the Dominican Republic in 2008, as the president on the Commission on the status of Women at the U.N. Model International Political Science competitions held at the United Nations Headquarters.
Ms. Kapitonova received her law degree from New York Law School, where she was awarded the Daniel Finkelstein Graduation Writing Award for the best paper by a graduating student on an issue in Landlord Tenant Law (Real Estate). Ms. Kapitonova was also awarded the Public Service Award and was in the Dean’s High Honors List.
Ms. Kapitonova received her undergraduate degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she graduated with Cum Laude honors and was awarded the Dr. Herbert Erlanger Graduation Award for being the most accomplished student athlete with the highest G.P.A. in the graduating class of 2008. In addition, Ms. Kapitonova was awarded the 2008 John Jay College Talent Search Award. While in college, Ms. Kapitonova was also awarded the John Jay College Athlete of the Year Award, The ECAC Merit Award (Eastern College athletic conference), an NCAA All-Star Award, as well as the CUNY Swimmer of the Year Award, among others. Ms. Kapitonova, who was born in Lima, Peru, was also a member of the Peruvian National Swimming Team, Division I and represented Peru Internationally.
In 2019, Ms. Kapitonova was selected as the winner of the Peru To The World Expo Award, for her excellency in the legal profession in North America by the International Committee of Peru To The World Expo and the Senate of the United States of America. In addition, Ms. Kapitonova was also awarded the 2019 Lawyers of Distinction Award recognizing her excellence in Employment and Insurance Law in the United States.
